Longtime participants in sneaker culture will undoubtedly remember the circa 2001, argyle adorned, slip-ons that generated worldwide buzz, in a time when buzz still took some legwork to get done. Suffice to say, Alife are very familiar with the power of a simple, textile upper/vulcanized rubber sole silhouette, making the subject of their latest collaborative work, a Nizza hi, an apt choice.
The canvas/vulcanized rubber basketball silhouette has been a three stripes mainstay since being introduced in 1975. Alife leans into the simplicity and timelessness of the Nizza, by scaling back the design as far as it is possible to go. With the exception of a contrasting, white ALIFE logo detail, the familiar form of the Nizza is rendered in solid yellow. A unique, modern touch is applied with the addition of Alife branded wristbands, which can be worn separately, or attached to the Nizza through the rear pull tab.
